Zeeman Spectroscopy of MH radicals

A. ROSS, P. CROZET, J. MORVILLE

We study the electronic spectra of some first-row metal hydride radicals NiH, CrH, FeH by laser excitation and Fourier transform fluorescence spectroscopy.  The spectral signatures of FeH and CrH are recognised markers associated with the atmospheres of cool stars.   (read more)

Frequency Combs

J. MORVILLE

"Vernier" coupling of an optical frequency comb (femtosecond impulse train from a Ti:sa laser) to the resonance modes of a high-finesse optical cavity is at the heart of a high-sensitivity absorption experiment.   Recording around  1000 cm-1  at (optimally) 0.03 cm-1 resolution in about 1 second, its performance has been tested in air, and with molecules and radicals produced by electric discharge (N2, CrH ... ).    (read more)

Alkali Dimers

A. ROSS, P. CROZET, H. HARKER

We study the electronic states of alkali dimers, by coupling laser induced fluorescence (one or two photon) and Fourier transform spectroscopy (FIL/STF).  (read more)
