The population dynamics of complex organic matter is often attributed to surface or solution phase chemistry in a solar system, thus indicating that these processes should happen at much later stages of a protoplanetary disc evolution. But there is ample evidence that the formation and processing of organics molecules can occur at much earlier times and in gas phase. This aspect has been explored in parallel for decades, by studying the VUV radiation processing of organic molecules. Among these ideas, the consideration of organics processing via energetic charged particles is often subdued and less explored. Here we will collect and discuss the evidence which warrants rejuvenation and substantial enhancement in the research activities to understand how energetic electrons and protons can process organics at different phases of planetary disc evolution.
