Measurements on the nanoscale using THz waves

''
In this talk I will describe our recent efforts in development of novel devices and applications which utilize THz waves to probe the physical and electrical mechanisms which drive the unique responses of nanoscale systems from nanoparticles to few-layer 2D materials. The power comes from the fact that THz waves have energies in the meV scale and this corresponds to the energies exhibited by many phenomena in these nanosystems. To interact the THz wave with these nanoscale systems, specially designed structures and geometries are needed. Such device geometries will be discussed with respect to recent findings by our research group.
