Laminated glass consists of multiple glass plies bonded by polymer interlayers to prevent glass shattering and perforation upon impact, thereby protecting building occupants from falls and improving resistance to forced entry. Although general design guidelines are available, the literature lacks a quantitative framework linking individual material parameters, including glass and interlayer thicknesses and interlayer tear resistance, to the overall impact performance of laminated glass. This work presents an experimentally validated modelling approach for predicting laminated glass impact resistance. The proposed model predicts the pass/fail outcome of impact tests using material properties that can be measured on a conventional Universal Testing Machine at low tensile loading rates.
