''Cavity polaritons, formed by strongly coupling cavity photons with quantum well excitons, constitute a rich and novel physical system. In the last decade, this system allowed the observation of several intriguing physical phenomena such as: out-of-equilibrium condensation, superfluidity, parametric scattering, and soliton and vortex formation. During the last few years, the research field is moving in two different directions: 1) the observation of single-polariton quantum features, such as the polariton blockade; 2) the observation of topologically non-trivial states of light, such as photonic topological insulators. In this talk, I will describe our research in these two fields. First I will investigate the dynamics of the second order correlation function and propose pulse shaping as a tool to optimise the generation of antibunched light. Secondly, I will investigate the possible observation of the accumulation of topological Berry phase in confined polariton systems in the presence of strong spin-orbit coupling.''
