Abstract. Amphiphiles are important part of our everyday life and many industrial processes. This talk will demonstrate several examples where they are used to generate various classes of functional materials. Applications of later vary from water decontamination up to heterogeneous catalysis and sensing. We will discuss how selection of the components and fine tuning of the interactions presented in the system effect structure and performance of these materials. Questions of chiral self-assembly and bottom-up approach to the synthesis of semi-conductive nanomaterials with complex morphology, recycling of surfactant in flotation process, role of solute in object interactions with the solidification front and problematic of Pickering stabilization of gas bubbles in bulk and in microfluidic chip will be presented.''
