Organoids are lumen-containing multicellular structures (a.k.a cysts) that are derived from stem cells and recapitulate key features of the organs. We will first present a microfluidic technology that allows to produce induced pluripotent stem cells (iPSC) cysts at high throughput in individual hydrogel capsules. Next, we will show how we can sort cellular aggregates according to size or phenotype using a home-made cytometer based on acoustic actuation. Finally, using a dedicated nano-inflator, we will explore the mechanical properties of iPSC cysts and unveil their unique capabilities of super-deformability with minimal stress generation.
